Background

My first experience of practising Reiki was on a stranger as part of my reiki training session. My reiki master asked her friend to be my guinea pig so to speak. I had to give her reiki and my teacher (Reiki Master) had to observe me as part of my training, before I could become certified. This was the final part of my training, to put into practice what I had learnt.

I had no idea what to expect, all I knew was it’s an experience for both the person giving the reiki and the person receiving it, and no two sessions will be the same.

I went into my reiki training blind, no idea what to expect or what the process was l, my motivation to do the training was so I can practice reiki on myself, for self healing.

I would usually be nervous if I knew I was being observed, but as soon as I discovered that you use your intuition in reiki I was confident and excited. I have confidence in my intuition, it’s the foundation of my psychic mediumship readings.

The Session

The lady I did reiki on gave me no prior information about her health, I’m not even sure I knew her name initially.

So, the lady is comfortable lying on the coach and I’m ready to go. No idea how it will go but I’m ready.

I started at her head and I had to work my way over her entire body. As soon as I placed my hands near her head I got a full visual body scan (clairvoyant, I got images and words (clairaudience) and feelings (Clairsentience) and I knew (Claircognizance) what her ailments were. I never expected that!

I was aware of having to spend time on her heart Chakra, her emotions were all over the place. I felt she had issues managing her blood sugar, and when I stood over her I started swaying, and heard the words vertigo. I knew where to concentrate the most for her healing, my intuition told me what to focus on and for how long. And my psychic abilities gave me a full body scan at the very start, so that was like being given a map.

The Feedback

After the session, I shared my observations with her. I mentioned that she might want to consult her GP regarding vertigo due to the energetic imbalance I picked up in relation to her balance. Her response left me amazed—she revealed that:

 1. Both her mother and sister had been diagnosed with vertigo.

 2. She herself had been experiencing balance issues but had not yet sought medical attention or a diagnosis. She believed it was vertigo due it her symptoms being the dame as her mother and sister.

Additionally, the connection with difficulty managing her blood sugar resonated with her because she is a type 1 diabetic and was struggling to keep her blood sugar levels in balance.

When I worked on her heart chakra for her emotions she said she felt a slight pulling sensation. She knew when I was working on that area, even though I wasn’t touching her. She shared that her emotions had been all over the place, she had problems with her son, she was worried, scared in fact.

Reflections

This session not only validated the intuitive nature of Reiki but also emphasised the importance of listening to our energy systems. While Reiki is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, it can act as a complementary tool for identifying potential areas of concern and encouraging individuals to seek medical advice when necessary.

This experience reinforced the powerful potential of Reiki to provide insights into health and wellness. It serves as a reminder of the importance of collaboration between holistic practices and traditional medicine to ensure individuals receive comprehensive care.

As the woman has now committed to visiting her GP, this case demonstrates how Reiki can play a meaningful role in encouraging proactive health decisions.

After the session

After reiki the impact is continuing, I checked on her afterwards to see hue she was. She disclosed that she’d had been angry after the reiki, she recognised this as the emotions working there way out and getting processed.

What I learnt (and from a whole other level compared to me getting reiki myself) is that reiki is an experience, a profound experience for the client and practitioner. No two sessions are the same, they are as unique as we are. And “energy is everything”.
